Blessings in Store (BIS) opened its doors in August 2010 on SW Railroad St. in Wallace, NC.  The beginning inventory came from items left from a yard sale the previous year at the Wallace United Methodist Church.  By October of the same year the store had already outgrown the retail space as well as storage so clothing racks were rolled down Main Street Wallace to the current location at 125 W. Main Street.  BIS is a thrift store depending completely on local donations and volunteers.  100% of the profit is returned to the Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries to help sponsor the programs offered to the community through this crisis center located in Wallace, NC.

We are open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week from 11 am until 2 pm.  We offer good quality clothes, shoes, jewelry, houseware, books, furniture, craft items, and more.  Prices are low to help meet the needs of all people in the community.  Besides offering inexpensive items to purchase, we also help support other programs in the community by donating school supplies to the public schools, medical supplies to “Tim’s Gifts” in Clinton, formal wear to support the prom giveaways and the “Night to Shine”.   We have given t-shirts to the migrant farmer’s program and also to several churches to make jump ropes for Operation Christmas Child.

Donations are accepted at the back door during store hours.  We do not accept the following items –    Electronics, large appliances, pictures larger than 2 ft x 3 ft, golf clubs, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, Televisions, printers, mattresses, bed pillows, toys, or futons.  A complete list is posted on the back door and at the bottom of this post.  The easiest way to remember those items is snap a picture with your cell phone.

We ask that donated items are cleaned and in good, usable condition.  Most items that we are unable to sell are recycled in some way so that little goes to the landfill.
